Some interesting developments are emerging in the mobile adnetwork space. A quick visit to the Quattro Wireless site will show a notice stating:

“We are no longer accepting new campaigns for the Quattro Wireless Network, and we will soon begin winding down existing campaigns.  As of September 30, we will support ads exclusively for the iAd Network”

This effectivley means Quattro will be killing their existing business with the hopes that advertisers make the transition to the iAds platform. Interesting, given that will mean a move away from performance clients to a pur brand ad play.

On the aquisition front, RIM are reported to be looking for a mobile ad-network with several dicussions with Millenial Media having taken place. The aquisition, if it were to go through, would pit RIM directly against iAds for mobile brand money.
